Hello - I'm wondering if I missed a setting somewhere... I have set the option under "Internal Viewer", Additional Rules, Force text mode for files - I've tried differend options here, *.txt, *.*, *.bat... it does not seem to have any effect, all files are still opened in hex mode... Is this a bug or have I something wrong elsewhere?

The separator should be semicolon ; and without any spaces.
The correct option for TXT, BAT and XML files is: *.txt;*.bat;*.xml
Or for all files: *.*

BTW: After configuration change, you have to reopen the Internal Viewer (if you are opening Configuration window from Internal Viewer window)

Sorry if I was unclear on that, I have tried multiple masks with a semi-colon and no spaces...

Currently I am using *.* as the 'force text mode' mask, and the internal viewer still comes up in hex mode for all files. (Using latest, 2.5 RC3)

I can post a screen shot if you like...

Did you activate Auto-Select in View menu?

I see Auto-Select mentioned in the Help.
I just don't see it under Configuration (?) | Viewers & Editors | Internal Viewer?

Am I looking in the wrong place, or am I missing something obvious?

Shouldn't it be: Internal Viewer menu: View > Auto-Select ? (for selecting Hex / Text mode as described in the first post)

Thanks. I've got it now.

I was looking in AS | Options ...
rather then first opening a text file in the Internal Viewer,
& then in the Internal Viewers menu items (not in AS menu items),
I then found the View | Auto-Select.

I missed that distinction - many times .
