ODT (Openoffice viewer)

Would it be possible to include an Openoffice document viewer (.odt)? There seems to be GPL-code available (see below for a small plugin for Notepad which allows viewing all Openoffice files, which I found):
"Delphi source code of OOo-to-text converter is freely available. It is also
used for compiling "OpenOffice.org Simple Viewer" plugin for Total Commander.
Get it here:

Is it legal to include GPL code to commercial not-GPL code? Even if .dll or plugin?

Found it.
Czech part of forum.
With GPL i'ts not possibe (as a plugin/bundle to distribute it together with Salamander). LGPL is ok, but GPL no.

Kfurter, how come you believe this to be under GPL license? I could not find any reference to GPL, neither in the download archive, nor on the author's web site.
The only statement I found is, that sourcecode is freely available. I would therefore assume, that is is under the same license as ATViewer (see
http://atorg.net.ru/delphi/atviewer.htm) where it is stated:
License:
It's copyrighted freeware. You can use it free of charge. Just give it a credit in the appropriate place of application help and/or about box.
Nevertheless, Salamander's plugin API is not yet released.

Sorry for the GPL note, just quoted something without verfication.
Just plain text is already great! At the end an Openoffice document is about text and the only thing you want to do is to read it (as some people don't think before the send an email with *.odt files and expect that you can read it).
What's your plan for having the API ready?

Users that have MSIE & OpenOffice installed almost certainly
already have a viewer that can easily display such documents in Salamander.
However, it is not enabled by default.
The viewer is called, believe it or not, the
IEViewer plugin.
To let the IEViewer plugin display OpenOffice documents, do this:
1) in Salamander, open menu Options/Configuration
3) select the Viewers & Editors/Viewers category
4) scrolldown the "File masks priority list"
5) on the empty line (which is the last one), enter this:
*.ODG;*.ODP;*.ODS;*.ODT;*.SXC;*.SXD;*.SXI;*.SXW
6) using the black Up arrow icon on top right, move the new line above "*.*"
7) Choose "Internet Explorer Viewer" in the "Associated viewer" combobox
8 ) hit OK
Enjoy!

This does
not work with OOPortable Version (witch isn't installed)

Hmmmm.
Is OOPortable or
is not installed? (I assume you meant "which" by "witch".) If not, then what do you mean by the word "with"? And, BTW, what is OOPortable?

What about Total Commander's Lister as an external viewer? It supports all Lister plugins.

Jan,
1. OOPortable
is not installed (copy out of a ZIP-file)
2. Indeed, I meant which!
3. OOPortable is the portable version of OpenOffice (no installation, just copy the files in a directory!)

That's the problem. MSIE plugins (MSIE is used by the IEViewer plugin) must be registered properly otherwise they won't be found. When you just copy files, they evidently don't get registered.
I guess that OOPortable is some minimalistic version of OO therefore it is possible the plugin is not part of the "installation".

Problem is that I need OOo to be installed, but MSO not in general ways.
