Couple of observations 0n RC2.

Hopefully of help. Might've been covered already, I guess.
Test platform Win2000 SP4.
1. Bug: Drive bar buttons don't always sync with panel contents. Sometimes for example the D: button will be shadowed but the contents of C: are visible in the pane.
I'd prefer the original drive-selector dropdown anyway, but I can't find any way to get back to it. The new drivebar gives no path information, whereas the old one did.
2. NTFS Encryption options:
Most users have zero understanding of Microsoft's rather unconventional encryption-scheme, and will fall straight into the trap of assuming that all they need to decrypt the files is their password. By the time they figure-out that's
not the case
Gigs of data may have been irretrievably lost.
Not strictly a bug, but if 2.5 is to be rolled-out into an office, I for one would need a way to remove the Encryption menu items. I think most sysadmins would agree on this.

Hello Lantash,
to get back the drop-down menu with the list of drives try following:
Right click on the
Directory Line (it is the blue stripe with the path just above the left/right panel) and select "
Customize panel toolbar" In the configuration window you can select which buttons you want to see on the left hand side of the Directory Line or just click the
Reset Button to get back default settings.

Could you regularly reproduce mentioned problem with lost sync on drive bar? Please send me screenshot in this state.
Please, copy&post the "NTFS Encryption" to the Feature requests forum.

With a bit more investigation, the Drive Bar buttons don't behave correctly if the Directory Line is deselected. That is the root of the issue, and in fact it's a fairly minor problem when you know the cause. Switching between apps and back (Alt-Tab) causes the buttons to refresh.
I had removed most of the toolbars looking for a more Spartan layout, and accidentally removed the Directory Line as well. Discovered that once in this sitation it's very difficult to get the Directory Line back, because there is nothing to right-click on.
I solved it by deleting the 2.5 RC2 registry section and reloading the defaults.
Hope this helps. So far only tested on one computer, so might be an isolated feature of this display driver, or whatever.

yes, if the problem was caused only by configuration deleting salamander's registry is the solution. But you loose all your settings.
The simpliest way is
to make a backup of Salamander settings when some major changes are done

Menu -
Options - Export Configuration... and when needed this backup can be simply restored by double-click on the config_.reg file when Salamander is not runnig to (to be sure that imported settings are not overwritten by salamander saving settings on exiting).
Hope it might help to someone.

Will you also address the issue with pannel configuration if Status, Header and Directory Line are disabled? Or is there an easyer solution already than to completely reset Salamander's configuration?

Problem is fixed.
SvA, could you please closely describe which issue do you mean?

Righ click on any of the Directory Line, Header Line, and Information Line of both pannels. Turn off the ticks in front of all three of those menu items.
Now you don't have anywhere to right click on, in order to get at the context menu where you could turn these lines back on.

Look at sub-menu Right [Left] > Show.
