Salamander freezes for a few seconds when copying files...

I've been using Salamander for years, and never had a problem with it.
Since today, when I copy files, Salamander hangs for about 10-15 seconds before copying them.
I'm running 2.5 RC 1 (since a few months).
It's not a hardware problem, I tried with another file manager and the files are copying normally.
Anybody had the same problem or got an idea what it could be?
Thanks.

Exactly she same problem here. Salamander 2.5RC 1 hangs when copying/deleting/viewing files.
Uninstalled completely 2.5RC 1, then installed it again. Same thing.
Downgraded to Salamander 2.0, the copy/delete operations are ok, but the file viewer (F3) is freezing.

Nevermind, it was a virus. Fixed.

Jan, the virus that was freezing my Salamander copy/delete/view operations is
W32/Lovgate-AD.

				it's a worm actually
here are the side effects:
*  Turns off anti-virus applications
* Allows others to access the computer
* Sends itself to email addresses found on the infected computer
* Modifies data on the computer
Interesting that it can freeze copy/del/view operations in Salamander

It could hook some system calls for window management or perhaps file system access (to hide itself, monitor other process activity, etc)... just guessing.

mmmm.....I'm having the exact same problem as you have but I've already scanned the whole computer for viruses + a specialized tool to recognize the so-called 'love-gate worm' mentioned earlier......
Unfortunately it didn't help......anybody got a clue what's wrong?

You can try a few things: reinstall SS and see if the problem is solved. Does it freeze in windows explorer as well? You can also try another filemanager etc..

Well, that's the weird thing, it doesn't freeze at all in Windows Explorer.....
And to be honest, I tried Total Commander (didn't get the freezing though), but I really got used to Servant Salamander

				OK, please try this:
1. start two instances of Salamander
2. freeze the first instance
3. switch to the second instance (Alt+Tab) and from menu Help choose the Task List command
4. select first instance and click the Break button
5. Bug Report should be displayed, could you please send it to us?

Thanks for your help, but I don't know what I did.....but it started working again. (???)
Oh and by the way......the moment that Servant Salamander froze, the whole computer froze (apart from the mouse cursor). So starting a second instance would have been a no-go
