I Ask the Author of GMail Drive.
The Answer:
Hi,
Please see the help file's FAQ topic to find an explaination why GMail Drive works in some File Managers and not in others.

Q: Why doesn't my backup software work with the tool?
A: See answer about mapping a drive letter. Your software may be accessing files on your harddrive using old DOS style instead of the modern shell-style. Genuine Windows software, such as the Total Commander filemanager, works just fine with GMail Drive.

Q: How can I map a drive letter?
A: A Shell Namespace Extension does not have the ability to map a drive letter.
Any possibility to have a plugin to support Gmail Drive?

Any plans on this?
I agree with the rest of people who consider that having support for Gmail Drive (
http://www.viksoe.dk/code/gmail.htm) would be great.
With this tool, you can convert the zillion gigabytes in your Gmail account into a huge virtual drive, accessible as a folder "Gmail drive" in "My Computer" from the Windows Explorer.
It would be great that, in the same way that Salamander let's me access my mobile phone, by opening directly the "My Computer > Mobile device" folder, I could also open directly the "My Computer > Gmail drive" that appears after I install viksoe's tool.
So, any plans on this?
please, please, please!

Please, make my day and tell me that you are going to support gmail drive!
Gmail drive is a great tool, as it lets you use your gmail account as a remote virtual disk with more than 6Gb of free storage.
Salamander is great too providing access to remote stuff with the same ease of use as if you were handling a local drive. Conents in ftp sites and mobile phones can be read and updated as easily as if you were working with local stuff.
Managing the capacity of a gmail drive from the easy interface of Salamander would be really powerful and a winning combination.
Please, please, please! Tell me that it is going to happen!

Add your idea to the
Plugins Ideas thread.
With
Altap Salamander SDK it is definitely possible to build the Gmail drive plugin.
Ok, I'll add it... but I don't expect much

Ok, I'll add it to the thread you propose... but I don't expect much.
According to
http://forum.altap.cz/viewtopic.php?t=2151 the documentation is still just in Czech and I haven't found much plug-ins to download, so I am a little bit scheptical.
Anyway, as I said, I'll do so while crossing my fingers.
