Disable Network Path Checking on an Inactive Window

Post by therube »

Option to Disable Network Path Checking on an Iactive Window.

As far as I can tell, an inactive AS window will still notify (popup message) when a network connection is lost. At the same time that panel with the lost network path will revert to some local path.

Suggest an option to disable checking of network path when an AS window does not have focus.

I cannot reproduce it here. It displays error on network path as late as when I activate Salamander. What is the type of your network path? Can you provide any other details?

I'll have to see what I can come up with.
(Figures it is not doing it now that I am trying to force it.)

Not doing anything special.
Simply two computers networked.

AS open with the share in one panel, local in another.
Connection good.
AS minimized.

At some point, the share computer is shut down.

At some point AS notifies "Checking network path ..." (I think it is), even though AS has not received focus.

Are you sure, that AS didn't receive focus by accident? (closing an application listed in the taskbar usually transfers focus to another window)

Yesterday I experienced the same thing therube reported here. However, when I recalled what I had been doing before I remembered searching the propper instance of AS by activating several instances and turning away to the next. So, I actually had activated the alleged offender and switched away to another instance. After some while the Salamander instance now running in the background popped up a message about the lost connection.

I think this behaviour is ok.

I don't know whether this is the very same thing that therube reported, but it might be what he experienced.
