Cannot disable "Save configuration on exit"

I am using Windows 11 Pro 64bit and Salamander 4.0 (x64). I would like my Salamander configuration to show a common display every time it comes up. I found the Options > Configuration > Save configuration on exit. I can uncheck this option. However, when I restart Salamander, it comes up again with the latest configuration. And going to the option again shows that the option is now checked again. Any fix for this, or am I doing something wrong?

Yes, you are :) Because this configuration change has not been saved when Salamander exited, exactly as you wished. So, after unchecking this option, you need to save the configuration manually by clicking Options > Save Configuration
