After the most recent reset of Windows all office files (xlsx, docx, accd, etc) are shown as unknown files.
The strange thing however is that a csv file has the proper Excel icon. Rereading associations or reinstalling Salamander has had no effect.
Could anybody tell me how I can get the icons back?

Re: No icon for office files
Can you see same issue in Explorer? If so then you can try to delete Icon cache: http://www.winability.com/how-to-erase- ... windows-8/
Re: No icon for office files
Thank you for your reply, but no issues in Explorer.
Re: No icon for office files
It might be some issue with 32/64 bit.
What versions of Windows, Office, AS are you using (in regard to version, build, and bitness).
Also, because office files are zip archives in disguise, an overly eager archiver might cause a mess. Can you check also with old style office files (i.e. .doc rather than .docx and so on).

Re: No icon for office files
Thank you SvA.
Office 365 16.0.11231.20164 32-bits
AS 3.08 64-bits (tried 32-bit, but no change)
Also I created a doc and xls, but the problem remained. The station is protected with bitlocker, but that is the case for more than one year.

Hello SelfMan,
Default apps are alright.
Default apps are alright.
Re: No icon for office files
Did you check the last line on the page? "Set default settings by application" or something like that. Idont have english windows at hand.
Locate the Word, Excel, Powerpoint apps and check their associations with file extensions.

Re: No icon for office files
Both of them. Default apps per filetype and per app were checked and alright.
