Yes, please, any update. Is the project alive actually? It's been a while (>5 years) since you promised Unicode.

For critical case of Unicode need I use Notepad++ and for complicated rename of unicode filenames I started use XYplorer 18 (https://www.xyplorer.com/product.php). It works very good. :D

My most complain about AS not supporting unicode is that the Viewer does not support UTF-8.

BTW, I badly need the working WinSCP plugin. It does not work with the new Linux servers anymore as soon as they use OpenSSH newer that 7.1
I've asked for workarounds in the the WinSCP support forum and got following answer:
Yes, the plugin needs to update.
But unfortunately, WinSCP was meanwhile updated to Unicode, what makes it incompatible with Altap Salamander API. I'm waiting for them to release Unicode version of Salamander.

Hi, just saw this thread and obviously it is few years already that Salamander does not support unicode file names. I can still see just ???? question marks and have to open explorer for simple operations like opening/copying the files.

Any updates on this feature?

Thank you

This is excellent software and the biggest weakness is lack of unicode support. I'm still waiting impatiently to see Unicode support. It should not be difficult job for developers as there is unicode equivalent for any ansi api.

I second that. I have big problems with the Romanian special characters in filenames.

Unicode Support

It would be great if developers add Unicode support to this software. Not sure but I think it couldn't take more than a week or two.

Any plan for adding this feature?
