en-/decrypt Files outside Salamander

Post by kretb »

Hello guys,
is there a way to decrypt a File with known password and know encrypt config, encrypted by the salamander plugin, outside Salamander?
I only know that the Salamander plugin is using a Crypto++ 4.1 library.
Did someone know a program for that?

Hey Jan,

the question is, is there any othere program on the market which is able to encrypt such a file, if the password is known.
I have sent someone a decryted File and he wants to encrypt it without using Salamander.

No, such software doesn't exist.

One idea: you can pack files using 7-Zip plugin (make password protected archive).
Such archive could be extracted using standalone 7-Zip application.
