Find 'search subdirectories' off by default

Post by johnd126 »

Could the next version please have an option to have 'Search Subdirectories' in the Find dialog UNchecked by default? 99% of the time I'm searching for text in a file (which works very well) and I know it's in one of the files in the current directory.

Use the Find Options > Add Current / Manage to define your own Find settings.

Doesn't that only work if I define a directory as well? I really want it to be the default always, for all time, forever, for every folder I want to search in.

(Don't get me wrong ... I'm really a great fan of SS ... I use it every day on two diffrent machines and tell everyone about it when I can.)

Thanks!
