asian language support?

Post by thebat »

I am new to SS. And like it. But..

It seems that SS does not support asian languages. When I tried to copy a file whose name is in Simplified Chinese, it said that the file couldn't be found. I tried both 2.0 and 2.5 RC1.

Alternative file managers, such as xplorer2, etc, do not have this issue.

Any suggestions?

The problem is that Salamander doesn't support Unicode yet.
This is planned for a future release. Seach the forum for UNICODE

Do you have your Windows switched to Simplified Chinese (AKA Chinese used in PRC) locale/regional settings? This will eliminate a number of bugs. Or do you have your Windows switched to some Western language?

Yes, I have switched the setting to Chinese used in PRC. File names are displayed correctly, but copy will fail.
