Internal text viewer AND search

Please add support for viewing UTF-8 / UTF-16 files in text viewer.

Additionally I need support for searching in UTF-16 files too

Explanation: I have many XML files in UTF-16 format. If I want to view them I have to use an internet browser (supports UTF-16). Thats OK so far, but if I want to find an XML file containing a given string, there is no possibility to do this except I use the HEX search function and enter the searched phrase in hex, like: "41 00 6e 00 6e 00 65" if I search for 'Annu'.

It would be such great if the search function would support searching in UTF-16 files.

Hi,

this thread: http://forum.altap.cz/viewtopic.php?t=188, is probably the biggest on forum about Unicode, etc. (but it's in Czech).

So the http://forum.altap.cz/viewtopic.php?t=85 thread is in English and as Altap says, the Unicode support is on Roadmap.
