By far, my most pressing feature request has to be for 64 bit edition.
I know it's a feature that has been promised... but the time has come!! 64bit is here and is being used more and more.
We have 20 licenses and have pretty well used them all up.
A number of the AS (Altap Salamander) installs have been on servers (between myself and two other server admins)
We all love the file handling functionality over Windows Explorer (who wouldn't!!)
We are upgrading all our servers to 64 bit (along with virtualization)
We are at a point where we should buy more licenses (to use on Servers)... but we have found a lot of deficiencies in AS when running on a 64bit Windows OS.
Things like... not being able to view the "C:\WINNT\system32\LogFiles" directory on a 64 OS is a major flaw.
No one likes using a tool that only does part of the job.
If we don't see a 64bit edition soon we will likely have to shelf AS for Windows Explorer (or worse, we find something else to use instead and probably never go back to AS).
I have been a user of AS (previously SS) for that last 10 yrs... I don't want to have to give it up.

Thank you for your post.

Note: directory C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles is exempted from file system redirector so you can already view your (x64) logs with Altap Salamander.
For other exempted directories and more information about File System Redirector please see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa384187
We can probably support %windir%\Sysnative browsing in Salamander so all x64-native directories will be available from 32-bit version of Salamander.

Re: My Most Important Feature Request!!
Hi Jan
I have cast my vote
With respect to the my issue with 'C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles' dir.
I cannot see this dir with Salamander 2.52 on numerous Windows 2003 X64 bit servers.
I can always see this dir with Windows Explorer (and in a cmd shell spawned from Salamander)... but the dir is not visible in Salamander.
This has to be a Salamander issue because the dir is there. Frustrating...

Re: My Most Important Feature Request!!
Could you please check if following directory exist on you server?
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\LogFiles
If no, create it and then try to access C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles from Salamander.
Please let us know...
