Order of Opened Files

Post by mdruiter »

I use the List of Opened Files (Alt+F11) often. But as the list is limited, sometimes I cannot find a previously opened file in the list. I understand that noly the most recently opened files are kept. However, if I use the List of Opened Files to open (view, edit, ...) a file again, the position of the file is *not* changed. That means that the List of Opened Files actually works against itself, because files opened that way are not seen as recent. :(
Is it possible to move Files Opened through the List to the top? That would fix it all.

For me, it looks to be working just as you describe & as you want.
Viewing a file from Alt+F11 pops it to the top of list.

(Now should it purge no longer valid names from its' list?)

I use the List of Opened Files (Alt+F11) often.
Prior to today, hadn't used it even once. Didn't even realize it was there ;-).

Seems to work as expected for me as well.
It would be nice however if it would open near the current mouse position, not centered as it does now, especially when opened from the menu.

And are the somehow created shortcut keys in the list really useful? Because they change every time the list is opened it takes longer to find the right one than to just click on the wanted entry (BTW it's the same for the Alt+F12 list of opened directories).
Perhaps the top entries should have shortcuts like 1 .. 9?

I am absolutely sure I saw it fail, several times, at least for Open. But I'm glad that the design is ok. :)
I'll try to reproduce the problem and post here.

I think Open is the problem. If I use the List of Opened Files for some file to Open it again, it keeps its position.
