What wanted the author to say with that?

If it was meant as a proposal of new functions for Salamander, I'd suggest to use e.g. the Sysinternals suite instead:

namely Process Explorer http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96653.aspx.

The point is, that the author (probably) already knows Unlocker. http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ a shell extensions. So why is it necessary to implement so many things in to AS?
Salamander is a FILE MANAGER.

This discussion has been here before.
EDIT: Spellcheck :-)

He wants to turn a file manager into a all in 1 tool, not really a smart suggestion. Stuffs like memory, services, processes shouldn't even be implemented into file managers. Start up tools detection and installed programs with uninstall function are no go mate.

Why are you so negative toward Joakim's suggestions? They are about plugins, not core functionality, in which case I would agree with your views. But think for example of the Registry plugin. Some things are realy handy to acess from the tool you have running up front all the time anyway. And plugins are there for those who want it without harming all the rest in any way.

To Joakim I suggest you search the libraries of Total Commander plugins to see whether you can find something fitting your expectations and then use the proxy plugin to install it. I myself use such plugins for environment variables, system events, devices and privileges.
