Re: Viewer for OpenXLM files (Office 2007)
I have finally obtained sample DOCX and XLSX files with a thumbnail.
Summary: The upcoming Salamander release will be capable of extracting thumbnails from DOCX, PPTX, and XLSX files.
However, be warned that according to my observations on a limited set of files,
1) PPTX files have a thumbnail almost always,
2) DOCX and XLSX files have it quite rarely.
How to check if a thumbnail is present?
a) Rename the file to *.ZIP
b) Enter the archive
c) check if docProps\thumbnail.jpeg or docProps\thumbnail.wmf is present
