Phone & Tablet access (not SD card)

I've looked at the mobile phone access post and found nothing useful. I can't see the internal storage of either my Nexus 5 phone or Nexus 7 tablet on Salamander (versions 3.06 and 2.54.) As mentioned in other post, I can see this storage in windows explorer (windows 7 64 bit) although it doesn't have a drive letter. Is there any way of making it visible in Salamander? (Note I can see the SD card storage on my older LG phone.)

Thanks for any help.

You can try switching to USB Mass Storage on your phone. I'm not sure if Nexus phones allow it. See this guide for example: http://www.howtogeek.com/192732/android ... s-storage/

Hi Ether - interesting article, but unfortunately it sheds no light on why media devices don't appear in Salamander but do appear in Explorer. My tablet (and phone) only uses either MTP or PTP, not USB mass storage. It doesn't have an SD card - the memory is all internal flash. Unless anyone knows how to make Salamander see media devices, looks like I'll have to live without this (which like no Unicode support is a bit annoying.)

The light-shedding information is that Salamander doesn't currently support PTP/MTP devices. You can try Total Commander Proxy Plugin with Windows Media Audio 2 (MP3) 1.2.

See Portable Devices plugin.
