Copernic Desktop Search is the best, I've met so far. It's perfect to search my musicfile collection, support ID3, and of course Office-Documents, Outlook and Thunderbird Mails etc.

I'm using Windows Desktop Search from Microsoft for almost 2 years now. The new 4.0 version performs much better then previous versions but has totally new Options UI
I was using Google Desktop Search before, but I was not satisfied. I don't know much about newer versions and I haven't tried Copernic Desktop Search so cannot compare.
