Use on several computers?

I am a consultant who works on different computers at different locations.

I would like to install Servant Salamander to a flash drive and have its power and convenience available to me wherever I go. The computers I work on typically have Windows XP.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Jeff

Hi Jeff, you can copy Altap Salamander directory to your flash drive and run it on different computers. The problem is with configuration stored in Windows Registry. Without uninstallation it will stay on all computers. You can search this forum for "portable" for some workarounds.

And I suggest you delete salamext.dll from the plugins directory. I am not sure abaout the logic (conditions) of this, but Salamander might try to install the shell extensions when it's there and you run Salamander.

I'm still using the scripts found here until something else better comes along: http://forum.altap.cz/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3084
