I hope this will be in a form of a strategic partnership. You will have some shares of the **Fine** company. If this would shield you from the bureaucracy and you could focus only on AS development then it is a great idea.

I'm looking forward to your official statement.

First of all it's not a construction company but a software company developing structural engineering software.
Secondly i think the guys could no longer sustain the business and tried to find a company willing to take over. I believe they found one who is willing to invest into it otherwise Fine had no reason to buy it. It's not a hostile take over trying to destroy a competitor since both companies make different products. Hopefully the guys at Fine are also Salamander fans so its future can be secured. Any way i expect the development of Salamander to continue.

Looks like the transition to VS2019 more or less done and a full version release could be soon :)

From Czech thread viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5194

We ran into unexpected problems with VS2008 -> VS2019 conversion, I'm sorry for this delay.

Until program is alive I really don't care even if you take another year. Now there are some corner cases now happening with Win10 which would be nice to be fixed, but there are ways around it.

Thanks again for the support. :)

There will be no additional development, no unicode support, no tabs etc. Everything has been said in Czech part of forum.

oh so this may not be good news after all? I google translated the czech but I did not find anything conclusive to say that raptor? can someone clarify if all development is now stopped? Alternatively is Altap going to release the source code at some point for others to pick up on it? It would be great if the authors could explain a bit more in detail in the English forum as well what the plans might be, thanks.

Not exactly what we said :)

Right now there are no plans for major Salamander release or development from our side.

BUT:

A) Never say never.
B) We are willing to open source Salamander plugins - we are looking for Visual C++ developers interested in Salamander.
C) If you are interested in vector graphics and icons creation, AS 4.0 has support for SVG toolbar icons. Maybe community could help.
D) Salamander is our essential tool, we will patch small problems, security issues, release minor versions to ensure AS 4 works just fine.
