Quastions before I buy

I have been using Power Desk Pro and find that it has 2 features that I use continually. It problem is satbility. I need to know if Salamander can preform the following -

1. When a list of files is displayed for a directory can a column be set to view the initial paer of this file (especailly a text file) - That way the first few words of the file show along with the name, size etc?

2. Can I search a directory and its subdirectories for a word or phrase and have the generated list show the file as well as the line of text where the search parameter occurs (all lines not just the initial one)?
