Thanks. Without an exact indication, what would you think would be a realistic time frame? A week, a month or more?

We will let you know in this forum as soon as 2.51 will be available. You can also insert your email to mailing list: http://www.altap.cz/salam_en/users.html to be notified.

Thanks, I am already part of the mailing list, however excuse me and please dont get me wrong Jan, but your answer is all but a serious one - especially for a commercial product (it would be still a bit more understandable for an open source project).

I know giving hard dates can be difficult sometimes, and even then they can still change, but exactly because of that I was asking for a realistic time frame. I wouldnt bother if you had said it still takes two or even three months, but then someone could at least plan and be prepared. As of now it could be available this afternoon or in two years. Excuse me, but this isnt something very professionally and I could imagine it will drive some potential customers to competitors.

Although 2.5 looks nice there are still some serious bugs (in comparison to 2.0) and I really hope to have 2.51 to be out soon as 2.5 personally rather seems a Beta or RC to me.

Could you please be more specific regarding these serious bugs?

Well, I'd have expected that you were already working on it since a bit longer ;).

Anyhow, I'd also appreciate a comment to my previous reply .... :)

Now we are talking about working on RELEASE (updating copyrights, license agreements, accompanying emails and readme.txt, web update, installer update, uninstaller update, signing using digital certificate, backuping debug information, final testing on W95, W95OSR2, W98, WinME, WinNT, Win2000, WinXP, Windows Vista, packaging, etc) not about working on Salamander. I hope it is more clear now...

I see, thank you. But especially then it should be possible to give a realistic estimate (not a hard date). A week, a month, half year, only an estimate, but a realistic one please ;)

So I guess it is impossible to get even only an estimate of a realistic time frame?

I could immediately think of at least two, the second maybe rather less showstopperish and more UI related, but nonetheless.
