Roadmap is updated :)

Version 2.51 is done, we are working on new web pages and internal database to be able sell new plugins (WinSCP and SFX) to existing 2.0 users.

Maybe it would be productive to release the first stable version of AS (or unstable and mark it as a beta) you'll create. I'm getting a little bit confused about what was solved and what not. And it would probably calm down some people. Please, don't take this as a complaint, I'm very pleased with the current AS, as I've been since v1.52.

@Guest] What bugs?

We will release AS 2.51 and new web site soon (weeks). This month we are also moving to better server housing (IGNUM) with a brand new server.

Sorry to say this, but it doesn't look professional to
be behind the schedule for months since Salamander went Final.

Last RSS ' 05/24/2007 - First version of Altap Salamander SDK was released. '
and absolutly outdated roadmap.

Change of Website / switching server's should be announced on you index page, even if its the old one.

It hurts Salamander prestige.

As a paying customer for Salamander i feel fooled to read your forum
and all i see, it will come... and will come.

It is not business like to see everything outdated and not well-tended.

If i would be a new customer, thinking about buying your product,
seeing how many problems still postet in your forum and not solved properly...

No sale !

I hope Jan you get my point, its now your turn to fix up some things.

A good start would be a firm schedule time and to keep the announced dates.
Next step, update your old site to see its worth my money and not a dead project.

I see your point, we should probably remove all time estimations from our roadmap. Thank you for your idea.

Please, try to understand that orthodox file managers are not part of Microsoft Office. We are on very tight budget, we have no IT department, PR department, etc.

Try to compare our product, support, and web site with our competitors (like Total Commander or Speed Commander) instead.

We really don't know way how to speed development up and do not compromise quality.

It's simple, if you don't like it don't use it. Some people sure demand a lot.
They pay for 1 single license of a product from a very small company and start comparing it with MS. Don't forget you get free upgrades until Altap switches to the next version. You get support from the developers while they are busy with developing more functions in Salamander. Where on earth do you get the idea the project is dead? Apparently you think the price for the license is too much for this great file manager if you don't get free upgrades regularly. You really should stick with windows explorer.

Holding back 2.51 when its done makes no sense.

If its bcuz WinSCP, they can timebomb it like they did with 2.5 pre release.
This would stop posts like above.

Hiding we are not M$ is kinda stupid, no one said you are.
True, you run on small budget but stating 2.51 is ready was a mistake then.

Total Commander has only one feature Salamander that is still missing, and that would be command queue for move/delete/copy progress like ftp tools full edit able.

I can see Bartłlomiej's point, but arguing brings nothing.

True but not necessary, no use in flaming others.

The now long wait time makes people impatient.

This is a patently absurd remark and those of you not familiar with TC should not take it too seriously. There are MANY things missing from Salamander but present in TC. Most of that functionality is already listed in the Roadmap for future inclusion in Salamander.

Let the Altap team work their development projects as they see fit! We'll all benefit!

I'm glad to hear that and looking forward to it (as I always do).

I agree, no deadlines.

Where did you get the feeling that v2.51 is done and being held back?
JohnFredC wrote:There are MANY things missing from Salamander but present in TC.
Are there? I don't miss that many things.
JohnFredC wrote:Let the Altap team work their development projects as they see fit! We'll all benefit!
True.
