Safe password store

Post by mklhmnn »

Instead of having to remember all private key passwords, I'd like to see a master-password protected password store similar to the one in smartGit.

Hm, I have a master password configured for FTP, but when connecting to a SFTP server, it always asks me for my private key passphrase.

How to make Altap Salamander remember my private key passphrases in the password manager?

It is not possible, it would break the Password Manager security model. You need to enter master password do decrypt stored passwords.

I think mklhmnn wants Salamander to remember decryption passwords for encrypted private keys (the "Private key file" option for SFTP connections). This password would of course be encrypted using Salamander's master password.
