Dropbox Support

One of the most popular file syncing sites out there is Dropbox.
http://www.dropbox.com/
In Windows Explorer DropBox puts a nice Library or shorcute right in the main display for Easy Access. I would love if an easy access icon could be put where the Documents, FTP CLient , SCP, Windows Registry shortcuts are in the Drive dropdown?

Why not create a Hot Path for it? Hot Paths are displayed on the bottom of the drive selection menu.

I do have a hotpath for it but on every single machine I set up with Salamander I have to create this Hotpath. I would love it if it just knew I had Dropbox and put the custom icon there with shortcut like ";" if for My Documents.

I add vote for DropBox support, too.
It will be nice have item in Alt+F1 menu.
PS: All hotpaths are occupied for me.

Isn't this something, that is better to be done by scripting? Especially, since there is several other free cloud providers, too.

I guess no one is interested in this one. I could look at making a plugin in the future but just do not have the time now.

(Just to note & no I have not used it:
CarotDAV is a Simple WebDAV / FTP / SkyDrive / DropBox / GoogleDrive / Box / SugarSync client.)

This idea isn't about cloud storage client. It is about putting path to cloud storage local directory into Alt+F1 menu.
From AS3.0b2 there is SQLITE3 database engine included in AS package (was needed for
Google Drive fix) - utils\sqlite.dll. We can read Google Drive and Dropbox configurations (both sqlite db) and get the local directory.

Hi Jan,
so what do you mean with your answer, are you going to put support for this in Salamander?

Kris

We like this idea, I hope we will find some time to implement it.

I'd rather support some similar open source project than such commercial, closed-source ones associated with NSA.
