It would be cool if Salamander supported environment variable expansion in Change Directory and, well, almost everywhere (Create Folder, Copy, Move, etc.)!
I was just instructed to go to the folder %appdata%, but Salamander couldn't do that - in Salamander I had to type C:\Users\Jesper\AppData\Roaming instead. Windows Explorer could do it without problems, so why not Salamander, which should be superior to Explorer?
Ah, now I can see the reason: % is actually an allowed name in file names.
Well, then perhaps it could be a global option to allow for environment variable expansion? Then I would turn it on, as I rarely need to use % in file names.
Or/and the Change Folder, Move, Copy, etc. dialogs could also have a check box "Use environment variable expansion", so the user could select it in each case. The default setting in this check box could be the global setting, allowing the user to override the default.
Best regards,
