Highlighting During Copy/Move Operations

Post by therube »

Highlighting During Copy/Move Operations is slightly different from 2.0.

Something is a bit different. Not sure I'm exactly able to put my finger on it to adequately describe it, but ...

If you have a set of files highlighted.
Copy to another directory.
Highlight the same set of files.
Attempt the copy again.

You're prompted with the Confirm File Overwrite dialog.

In 2.0, if you were to dismiss that dialog with an ESC or Cancel, rather the selecting Skip, highlighting would remain.

I found that to be useful - that highlighting remained.

In 2.5, once the Confirm File Overwrite dialog appears, the selected files are no longer highlighted. So if you Cancel, that highlighting is no longer there.

Suppose that since the copy is now running asynchronously, highlighting may not be able to be retained?

Exactly. All items must be unselected as soon as progress window is displayed. Keeping selection would be very dangerous & unfriendly.

There is one solution: Edit > Restore Selection (Ctrl+W) command.
