"Internet Explorer Viewer"-Plugin

Post by AbteriX »

Hmm, i got again this problem with too looong Suject
by using "Internet Explorer Viewer"-Plugin ... filter content" as subject.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,
i store program home pages on my PC with the download exes.
Then later i view this sides with F3 and the iEViewer-Plugin.
Then most sides want to conect to the net to load stuff like pic
or execute javascript. So i mostly modify the HTMLsource and
delete such code.

Request:
can you make the iEViewer to filter such content out of this sides,
don't know how, maybe block this viewer to conect to the internet?
Well sorry, i know what should happend, but not how to handle this.
Have anyone an idea?

Hmmm? As work around maybe allow use to use an other engine,
like the "1 by off browser"... don't remember the name right...
i mean the one who cames with Bart's PE.... if i could use them
and give them an false proxy... ;-)

What do you think?

He, just think i can do this on my own?!
I try to use this browser as alternate viewer for htm and html.....
CU later...

OK here is how we can preview lokal copies of websides
without let them connect to the internet:

1.) Download Off By One Browser in a Zip File by itself
from http://offbyone.com/offbyone/ob1_download.htm
It's Free, Of Course and a small ~450kB download.
(The 1,2MB EXE will be ~450kB too if you crunch it with UPX)
All settings are stored in an INI in the program folder.

2.) unpack OB1.exe into your Salamander folder (in an sub folder "OB1")
No installation is necessary, just extract the file and run ob1.exe.

3.) in Salamander use "Options | Configuration..."
goto "Viewers & Editors" and then "Viewers" (for use with F3)

4.) select "*.HTM;*.HTML..." (or create a new File mask entry)
(or use "Alternate Viewers" for use with Alt+F3)

5.) use
Associated viewer: External Viewer
Command: "YOUR PATH....\Salamander\OB1\OB1.exe"
Arguments: "file:///$(FullName)"
Initial Directory: "....\Salamander\OB1\" (Jan, i missing $(SalaPath) here again)

( file:/// is the trick, see http://offbyone.com/offbyone/ob1_faq.ht ... alifiedUrl)

6.)
Do some settings in OB1 :
Options: Don't "Load Images" and others
Options: "Proxy Server" ,
well, to put it in a nutshell: set it to 127.0.0.1 or localhost to prevent OB1 to go outside.

7.)
select your lokal copy of the *.HTML file and press F3

8.)
Goto the end of the page http://offbyone.com/offbyone/ob1_download.htm
and "Drop him a note" if you like OB1.

see there FAQ at http://offbyone.com/offbyone/ob1_faq.htm
and there manual at http://offbyone.com/offbyone/ob1_help.htm

Hope you'll find use for this.
Any commends, suggestions, spell checkers?
