Vers 3.0 x86 and 64bit "reject" MyConfig.Reg from 2.45

Post by uidaltap »

Altap Salamander wouldn't do an import of the Vers 3.03 keys into Vers 2.54,
so I exported MyConfig.reg from 2.54 and then Uninstalled Vers 2.54.

Installed and uninstalled and installed (again) for Vers 3.0 both x86 and 64bit.

Each time Vers 3.0 said MyConfig.reg is out-of-date and it is NOT applicable
for the 3.0 version.

I finally accepted the choice to "import anyway", and the screen layouts
seem to be what I had.

Did I overwrite something I need ?????????

PS - Purchase of 3.03 was TODAY 27 Oct 2014

config_.reg (MyConfig.Reg) is made to backup the (Salamander registry) settings for a particular version of Salamander.
It is not made to be used as an import into a different version.
(Is that correct or might it automatically adjust for the version being imported into?)

This is because Salamander stores its Registry setting based on version number.
So you could have different settings for 2.54 & 3.0 & 3.03 - all at the same time, without affecting one another.

> [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Altap\Altap Salamander 3.03]

During install you are afforded the opportunity to import (older version) Salamander (registry) settings & keys.
