Hi! Suddenly I am missing the item 'rjhExtensions' (offers duplicate file and some more)
in the context menu. Fileboss and QDir (other file managers) have no problem.
What did I do wrong?
(Or has Salamander an option for duplicating file(s)? Much used by me!)
Hope you can give me some advise.
(I am using this beautiful program with much pleasure! Thanks!)

Missing item in context menu
Re: Missing item in context menu
It's named "Copy" (Or what else do you and rjh Extension refer to with "Duplicate"?)chwdgr wrote:(Or has Salamander an option for duplicating file(s)? Much used by me!)
Do you have 32-bit or 64-bit versions of each named component installed? 32-bit and 64-bit don't mix.
Do you run any of the programs "As Administrator"?
Re: Missing item in context menu
Sorry! I wasn't clear! I just like to make a copy of a file, kind of backup, in the same
directory. Normally a number will be added to the new file, like foto.jpg -> foto(001).jpg.
Then I can modify the original foto.jpg and have a backup in case I mess up the
original!
A simple and easy 'duplicate'! Select a file in Salamander, right click, choose 'duplicate'
and I am ready! That is what I miss in Salamander.....
The old program 'rjhExtensions' added this function to the contextmenu in Salamander,
and Explorer etc, but I noticed a couple of month ago its no more there in Salamander!
Thank you for your interest!

Ctrl+C
Shift+INS
or
Ctrl+C
Ctrl+V
And you never answered the 32/64 bit question.
(For reference, rjhExtensions, [though no download from there].)

Re: Missing item in context menu
I was able to download rjhExtensions from here.
But it does not work for me (Windows 7 x64) - I can't see that context menu neither in Salamander (3.03 x64) nor in Windows Explorer.
Probably that's some issue with the program itself - it seems that it was not updated since 2001 and is no longer supported.

Re: Missing item in context menu
Oops! Worked 30 years with PC's programming (from assembly to C#) and never realized
that CtrlC-CtrlV can also be applied to filebrowsers like explorer and Salamander.....ahum....
Your tip made me very happy!
Finished now with that rjhExtensions program: this is much easier....
Btw I am working with Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bits.
Remains the fact that rjhExtensions worked for me for years, and suddenly stopped!
But let us blame Microsoft Windows 7, some recent update maybe.
Thank you very much for your efforts to solve my problem!

Re: Missing item in context menu
I must be missing something here .... To just quick-copy:
I have two panes: Left = MyDirFOlder and Right = SaveInCaseFolder (Which is always in use!)
- LEFT-mouse click on the file
- Drag it over to the right pane
- Periodically Rename all of the files in SaveInCaseFOlder with a program like the $20 V-Fileviewer to
---- "Append at end" _2014_MMDD or
---- "Add to start" 2014_MMDD_
(Don't know if Salamander does a global change)
- Or use F2 and rename as desired, then just drag it to the left and back into MyDirFolder, if required
Yup, better safe than sorry.
