error loading configuration

On starting AS, an error box comes up...

Error Loading Configuration
(5) Access is Denied

After pressing OK, AS loads as normal, apparently with configuration intact. There seems to be no ill effects while using the software, and when closing, it seems to save the configuration and close normally.

This occurs at each startup...

Create a new user profile and try salamander there. Its highly possible thaht your registry is corrupted.
Go Options > Export configuration and store it on a safe place.
As a quick fix, you can delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Altap key and subkeys.
You have to re-configure Salamander or you can import the stored configuration.

Thank You for your prompt reply. I'm sorry, but that did not work for me...
Any other thoughts?

Can you, please, check if you don't have an exported configuration file present in your salamander install directory? Maybe it is there and is not readable. Citing the help:
"If you save the configuration to a file named config.reg and place this file to installation directory (near salamand.exe) or in Vista or later rather in application data directory (typically C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Altap\Altap Salamander), that configuration will be imported from this file to the registry before loading Altap Salamander's configuration from the registry."
