Some files are not shown correct in the viewer. All chars are shown in a vertical line.
Is this a codepage/coding problem?

Can you verify that the file is not Unicode encoded? (e.g. switch to hex-view and check if every letter is not followed by a zero).
Internal viewer does not support Unicode texts yet.

Yes, that looks like an unicode file.

It's an unicode file. Are there any plans to support Unicode? I thinks it's a important feature.

Thanks
Eric

You are not alone.

1) Try to Search "unicode" - Search found 21 matches including your post.

2) Here is ALTAP Roadmap for next Servant Salamander versions:
http://www.altap.cz/salam_en/newver.html
  • Unicode support, UTF-8,16,32 (names in panel, viewers, find, convert, compare).

I use Lister32 from Mr. Ghisler for unicode files.
I have made a new *.reg entry in the viewer options (above of the *.*)
and assigne this to Lister.exe

I have also an new entry in the alternative viwer list as *.*
with Lister.exe.
You can reach this alternate viewer by pressing Ctrl+Shift+F3
So i have there view64.exe and ListXP.exe too.

You can do the same for Ctrl+Shift+F4

This is a very useful tip. :) Lister32 nearly looks like the internal viewer and is integrated very well in Servant Salamander. I use it on first place in my list of alternate viewers so I can reach it easily with ALT+F3.
