ID3 Tag - missing field

Post by kretb »

Is it possible to modify the fields which are shown when you use the Viewer to show MP3 tags.
I'm missing f.e. the field "Disc-No.".
And many often the URL is shown in Japanes Letters and when I open this file in another ID3 Tag Editor this field is shown correct.

Nope. It's just a viewer.

Could you post a screenshot of what these Japanese letters look like?

I mean, I don't want to modify the entries in the fields, I mean I want to see the Field "Disk", which shows me the discnumber.
I get many field but not this one and it have definetly an entry, because I made this entry with a different program (MP3Tag) and can see this entry afterwards f.e. in the Windows Explorer.

Could it be that this is relating to the adjusted language in AS?

What is the best way to post to post a screenshot, is drg'n drop possible?

okay, enclosed the Screenshot, on the left side you see the information out pof mp3tag and left side the mp3 viewer inside AS.
So you see that also the discnumber is not shown in the viewer

The Multimedia Viewer plugin doesn't have the field disc number that's why you don't see it.
PLUS i don't see that the URL is shown correctly in your ID3 TAG WWW field "Soundcolours gmbh .... " ??? And those are not Japanese letters but Chinese characters.

Could you check the Extended Tags dialog to see all the fields? I think that the Mp3tag's WWW and Multimedia Viewer's URL are different fields.

No, the fields are definitely the same (Mp3tag's WWW and Multimedia Viewer's URL).
Are you able to show all the extenden tags in a file?

I tried to save something into the WWW field in a MP3 file using Mp3tag and it didn't show in Multimedia Viewer, so I was thinking it is a different field. If you could show us all the fields (using the Extended Tags feature of Mp3tag), we could see what field we're really talking about.

OK, I replied. I hope we'll find the reason for the wrong URL.

In the meantime, I created another topic for the disc number field in the Feature Requests section.

So, according to the sample you sent me, the culprit seems to be the WXXX tag. The content seems to follow the spec with ISO-8859-1 encoding, but IMO Multimedia Viewer assumes it's in UTF-16 as the rest of the tags and maybe even doesn't skip the Description part.

Below are samples - first is the original tag which displays incorrectly, second should be the same text in another tag (not custom) which displays correctly. A screenshot with both the tags in Multimedia Viewer is attached.

Can you please provide a sample .mp3 file with these problems? Your descriptions are clear, but we need sample file to fix them.
