This isn't first time to happen, so I thought to report
It's about some RAR arcives. I really don't know how to check which various archive versions or arguments passed to archiver which produced the file, but here is what this file properties reports:
Version to extract 2.0
Host OS DOS
Total files 1
Total length 79.708.806
Packed length 79.500.845
Ratio 99%
SFX module size 0
WinRar handles file just fine, but AS reports error:
File is of an unknown format or not a valid RAR archive.
I guess my settings are by default and UnRar archiver set as UnRar (plugin) - Win32 rar console exec
Are you sure that the archive is in fact a RAR archive?
If it were a ZIP, named as RAR, you would get that same error.
Examine the file itself (Alt+F3 should do it ).
If the first few bytes are not "Rar!" then it most likely is not a RAR.
(Though it is some format that Winrar is able to handle.)
(Actually kind of surprised that Salamander isn't a bit more transparent in these respects.)
You are right
It wasn't RAR at all as it started with PK, meaning ZIP archive
Even file properties said ZIP but I probably wasn't concentrated much, so made quite a useless post, sorry for that
Thanks therube for your answer
