I'm using WinXP SP3 32bit with AltapSalamander 2.52. I had Tortoise 1.6.7 running, all was fine.
This morning I did the following:
- install Tortoise 1.6.8
- Overlays and right-click-menu (Shell-Extension) where gone, but they are in windows explorer
- removed Tortoise 1.6.8, installed 1.6.7
- Overlays and right-click-menu still gone
- removed, installed, repair-installed Altap 2.5.2
- installed, Altap 2.5.3beta
- removed beta, installed 2.5.2
- Overlays and right-click-menu still gone, but they are in windows explorer
I did do a Tortoise self-repair installation, that did not help.
Thanks in advance,
Klaus
PS: I opened this topic cause the other one has the "solved" symbol.
I am having the same problem with Tortoise SVN and also with LiveDrive (online back).
The odd thing, however, is that I have another PC with a similar configuration where it works.
My primary PC:
- Windows 7 x64 (Physical PC)
- Salamander 2.54
- Tortoise X64
- Context Menu from Tortoise? No
Secondary PC:
- Windows 7 x64 (Virtualized under Mac OS X using Parallels Desktop)
- Salamander 2.54
- Tortoise X64
- Context Menu from Tortoise? Yes (!)
I am 99.99% certain that my virtualized Windows 7 is also running the X64 version as I use this one as a development environment and try to use as many x64 tools as possible, just to see if I am still able to develop for the x32 platform and still run it on both x32 and x64 since we primarily use x32 platforms to run our software.
I haven't tried LiveDrive on the virtualized Windows 7 yet though, so I cannot say if that works or not.
