Thumbnails in panels?
Thumbnails in panels?
I can't get any thumbnails in Thumbnail view. I can only see an enlarged icon. Is this a bug?

Re: Thumbnails in panels?
Can you give us an example of what file types you have problems with? Images (e.g. JPG), drawings (e.g. DWG), documents (e.g. PDF, DOC) or any other?plino wrote:I can't get any thumbnails in Thumbnail view. I can only see an enlarged icon. Is this a bug?
2nd question: do you have the PictView plugin installed and enabled (to check it, go to Plugins/Plugins Manager)?

Yes, in this case you need it.
Please see http://purchase.altap.cz/purchase/ and What's this? for the PictView plugin for more details.

I had never noticed that.
I think this is not fair.
You should allow the thumbnails to display what explorer already shows. Not more not less!
It doesn't make sense to force the user to pay for something he already had included in his system.
I agree that if the user wants all the extra features included in PictView (some are quite interesting) then he should pay for it...

We can support reading thumbnails from Windows if there will be demand.
Every programmer can do it, because Salamander has open plugin architecture and SDK is available.

Over 80 per cent of our customers purchase Salamander together with the PictView plugin. It will be probably the reason.
Please, put your request into the Feature Requests section.

I can see your point, but I just want to see the small thumbnail (which I already have if I open an Explorer window) to select which photos to copy to a CD to take to a printshop...
If I want to view the full photo, I already have the Freeware IrfanView. If I want to edit the photo, I already have the Open Source Gimp...
I have paid for Servant Salamander because it has features no other Dual Pane file manager has. I just don't want to pay (again) for things I already paid for
