Taking up a lot of CPU

Salamander is taking a lot of cpu on my laptop running XP Pro sp2. This happens when I haven't asked Salamander to do anything.

I'm running ver. 2.51.

What is going on?

Are you running AS in the thumbnail mode?

Please try to set following option: Options > Configuration > Drives > Fixed drives > Use simple icon.

Set both panels to the same empty directory on your fixed drive (C:\SALTEST for example) and restart Salamander.
