Altap Servant Salamnder 2.51 - UNC problem

Guys,

I want to know if UNC paths are working correctly like typing \\127.0.0.1 in the addressbar. I get an error every time that the share name is missing. Also while typing \\127.0.0.1\. Even Windows Explorer and TotalCMD can browse like that, I mean without typing any share names.

I hope this will be fixed very soon.

Kind regards,

Canefield

Too bad this feature is missing. I started trying out salamander yesterday, for use at work. I work on several remote computers, and having to know all the shares is really a pain. Is there any solution that allows me to browse the shares on a particular machine?

Go to Change Drive menu (Alt+F1/F2), select Network Neighborhood. Or use Ctrl+` or Ctrl+, hot key directly from panel.

I see. That's not exactly what I'm looking for, but I can probably work around it by creating shortcuts.
One of the reasons I'm trying out salamander is to test how it handles network connections. Total commander is not really efficient in that sense, and doesn't really satisfy me for work. So I'm a bit disappointed indeed. I will certainly be expecting this feature.
I do however prefer salamander over total commander in a lot of aspects. I find it more user friendly and it seems more robust and fast.
I will continue trying it out for now. Thank you for the development of this tool.

Please describe how it should work to satisfy your needs. We are working on Network plugin, so we are collecting good ideas. ;-) What's wrong on TC implementation of network browsing?

Guys,

Can anyone give me a date of publication of this important feature?

Kind regards,

We will inform on this forum as soon as beta version of NetHood plugin will be available. We want to implement network enumeration on the background, not blocking Salamander's GUI. It will take some time, no ETA for now, we are sorry.
