Direct integration of Oracle Outside In (oilister)

Post by McLion »

Are there any thought of directly integrating oilister instead or in addition of Eroica? It does a really great job on lots of file types, specially the later MSoffice files and pdf.
I currently have it using manison's tcproxy, which of course works as well. Direct integration and distribution would be the nicer way.

Viewer type plugin is rather simple (compared to file system), basic window should be doable in a few hours with Altap Salamander SDK.

TC plugin:

Oracle Viewer Technology

Thank you for this idea. I will move this post to Plugins Development section.

I see Eroica is on the Roadmap for x64. Eroica is very outdated and rather useless since it only displays very old office files only, for instance. IMHO, you should remove Eroica and instead taking some effort for a direct integration of the Oracle Viewer and bundle this together with Salamander.

I think there is no chance to bundle Oracle Viewer Technology with Salamander for reasonable price.

McLion, thanks for mentioning this plugin! It works much better with MS Office files than Eroiica (even with older ones), although not much better with pdf (too slow, freezes happen etc.)
But now I could finally switch to Salamander x64 without compromising the functionality!

Since eroiica is now removed, I'd like to push this up again. There is only one thing eroiica could show which oilister can not: showing Solidworks CAD files SLDPRT or alike.
Everything else, it does a lot better ... and much more!

Just to better understand since I am new to Salamander and uLister (with Outside In libraries) is my favorite plugin, how does Salamander currently handle previewing of common document file types like MS Office and PDF?

Without adding oilister - or any other plugin alike -, it does not, which is a pity.

I recommend using SumatraPDF viewer for the pdf, epub, etc. (for the correct setup see - http://forum.altap.cz/viewtopic.php?f=2 ... 310#p56310 )
