Re: FTP plugin not really working
I have this problem sometimes too. It happened today when I was uploading many small files in a batch (a copy of the Swift Mailer PHP library). Closing and reopening Salamander seems to have fixed the situation.

Re: Any idea about the date of the next release?
I've been using ALTAP salamander for a good many years nows and I dont really want to use anything else but I'm allways frustrated on how long a new release takes to come out :( I'd guess that you get frustrated easily in other areas of life too. Perhaps, it would be beneficial to notice that and e...

Re: Error 206 The filename or extension is too long
I have to resort to using Windows Explorer when dealing with very long paths. When will this be addressed?

Re: What next? Vote please: x64 version or UAC support
Dmitry conveys my exact sentiments! Unicode is absolutely essential and should be the top priority. I just had to move files (downloaded by a torrent program) from one location to another. Two of the files contained Unicode characters. Salamander refused to do it (or delete them) because "The ...

Shouldn't use semicolon as mask separator in Find dialog
Because Windows allows semicolons in file names, using semicolon as a separator between masks in the Find dialog leads to failed search in some cases. If I want to find files that match firstpart;* , I shouldn't use Salamander for it because it simply returns all files. A solution to this would be t...

Re: Multiple file masks in file search dialog
I only found that in the description of the Look in field in the Help. But even if Help was complete, it's too time consuming to look into it for everything. It would much more user-friendly to mention to use semicolons near the field itself in the dialog (possibly in a tooltip that is displayed aut...

Multiple file masks in file search dialog
The Named field in the Find dialog should have instructions on how to use more than one mask at a time. I tend to use comma because I am used to using it in email, but it is wrong in this dialog.

Re: FTP Passwords as cleartext/way to decrypt them
This doesn't work in 2.52 or 2.53 beta 1, and I need to recall my passwords.Petr Solin wrote:Since version 2.52 beta 2 you can use Ctrl+right click in Password edit box to show password as clear text.

Ah, I've forgotten to state that the problem area (mostly) is FTP operations. So, if you could implement this in one area only, please start with that one.

Re: Safety of plugins
Could you establish a special category of plugins -- those for which you obtain source, verify its safety, and compile and distribute yourselves? You could call them verified plugins or something like that. It's easier with script as I can read the source code and verify that it doesn't contain mali...

Re: Ability to skip specified directories during copy/move o
That would work, stepand76, but would be much less efficient than using an FTP client (e.g. FileZilla) that supports what I need natively. I usually prefer not to do what a computer can do.

Safety of plugins
Is there a guarantee that plugins developed by 3rd parties are safe to use? This issue is similar to security of widely popular iPhone apps (http://itmanagement.earthweb.com/secu/a ... d-Rush.htm).

zarevak, that feature doesn't seem to work with an FTP panel in Salamander.
