Re: IPhone connection not visible in Salamander?

Have you used search on this forum?
Salamander does not support what Microsoft calls namespace, but only filesystems. There might be work-arounds using plugins or device settings, though.

Re: Missing item in context menu

(Or has Salamander an option for duplicating file(s)? Much used by me!) It's named "Copy" (Or what else do you and rjh Extension refer to with "Duplicate"?) Do you have 32-bit or 64-bit versions of each named component installed? 32-bit and 64-bit don't mix. Do you run any of th...

It's not even necessary to do it before you start searching, you can freely navigate between matching entries using Up/Down/PgUp/PgDn/Home/End.

Re: Altap Salamander on Windows 8.1 - Compatibility Mode

I am using AS 2.54 and just upgraded from Win 8 to Win 8.1 (x86). So, now, AS does not start without said dialog. Therefore, first of all, I would like to understand the consequences concerning functionality and stability of Salamander 2,54 under these circumstances. As I understand, there are none....

Re: File list export from Find Files & Directories

Your DATE and TIME in the Filelist*.txt output file kind of defeats the purpose of of the >> , which is supposed to add more text to the file created by the previous call. Use a simple, well defined filename instead. That's why grep said The side effect is that the list is not cleaned, which can be ...

Re: Copy / Move Files With Path easily

You can specify the destination path in the copy/move dialog yourself. You can copy the source path easily (Edit > Copy Path as Text (Ctrl + Alt + Insert)). Then using the destination path, that AS fills in, and the source path from the clipboard, construct the destination path. the *.* at the end i...

Re: Copy/Move/Delete etc. on External SDcard on Android Devi

It seems to be a problem with Salamander 2.54 and Windows Media Audio 2 (MP3) 1.2. Windows Media Audio 2 (MP3) 1.0 seems to work. Have yet to tst on Salamnder 3.02. I was confused about this post until I found out that "Windows Media Audio 2 (MP3) 1.2" and "Windows Media Audio 2 (MP3...

Re: Mobile Media Access

Hi vld,

have you used search on this forum?

Basically, you have two options. If your device/OS support it, turn your device into mass storage mode.

Or else, search for a suitable total commander plugin and install it using AS's proxy plugin.

Re: Defaulting to Administrator on startup

Salamander does not provide any option to run "as Administrator", so, you should look at system settings and at the links you use to start Salamander. By the way, what do you refer to when you say "as ddministrator"? Is it the same user with elevated privileges or is is a differe...

Re: Missing ProgramData and AppData folders

You might have accidentally pressed the hotkey Ctrl+H
But there's a visible hint in the Directory Line:

The filter symbol only appears if any files or folders exist but are not displayed.
Note: The symbol is also used with the file mask based filter (Ctrl+F12)

What are the image dimensions (width, height, color depth).
Are you on x86 or x64 Windows?, 32 or 64 bit AS?

Checking Path-Window

Hi On wake-up from Lock/Hibernation, Salamander shows the "Checking path ..." dialog on on top of other, unrelated windows, even when salamander's main window is entirely covered by that other window. In my opinion, it should show on top of salamander's main windows, but below any other wi...

Re: Internal viewer position on minimized main window

I can confirm Jan's description. Nothing random here. wqweto (and Ether), what exactly do you refer to when saying "pretty random"? Does each new viewer window appear in a different size and/or position? Or does each viewer window appear alike but not in sync with Salamander's restored win...
