Re: Customizable shortcuts
Of course do Backspace and Enter work - that's what I'm using since ages. But I'd like to add "Lynx-like motion" (for those who know Midnight Commander from Linux/OS X) where you can use the Cursor-Left and Cursor-Right keys to go one level up or down.

Re: Salamander (and alternatives) for Mac OS X
We are sorry, no chance for OSX or Linux port. We need to concentrate on further Windows versions of Salamander (Unicode, 64-bit, localization support, etc.) Is this statement still valid? I'd pay 100 or 200 EUR to get the AS for all the systems I use, because there is no real alternative - Double ...

Customizable shortcuts
I'd like to have customizeable shortcuts. I don't care whether it needs messing in a text file as long as I can change certain default shortcuts.
E.g. I want to be able to use cursor-left (or backspace) to go one directory level up or cursor-right (or enter) to dive into a directory.

Re: Unicode Support
My most complain about AS not supporting unicode is that the Viewer does not support UTF-8.

Re: HiDPI support
I'm using AS 3.0.8 on a 4k-monitor with 200% scaling and don't have major problems with that, so for me it has no high priority.

Re: Shutdown problems on XP Pro
I also have these problems on Windows 7, so it seems not to be a Windows XP problem, but might be related to other applications I have running.
While XP just does not shut down, on Windows 7 an error is telling me that AS 2.53beta1 does not respond.

Re: Shutdown problems on XP Pro
Sorry to say, no the problems are back. Every evening, Altap Salamander is the last running application and I have to exit it explicitly because otherwise Windows XP won't shut down. The problem is the same with the 2.53 beta 1.

Re: Shutdown problems on XP Pro
I've disabled ctfmon.exe as described here and it looks like this problem is gone now.

Re: Make background refreshing optional
Most likely because AS somehow locks this directory and hence deleting in ANT (aka Java) fails.

Re: AS 2.52 feels much slower than 2.51
This problem is not 100% reproducible, but for 90%. For example, AS 2.52 feels much slower invoking the file viewer, pressing ESC and trying to select a new file. Often, it takes approx. 1 or 2 seconds for AS until it becomes responsive after having pressed ESC in the AS file viewer. I don't have th...

Make background refreshing optional
Please make background refreshing an option, so I can get back the refresh on-window-activation as with AS <2.52. Reason: I often use the ANT build tool in my IDE. Having the output directory shown in AS immediately aborts the ANT script (which first deletes the output directory to fill it again lat...

AS 2.52 feels much slower than 2.51
See title bar. Especially when copying files it often takes 1 or 2 seconds until the copied file(s) occur in AS 2.52. With 2.51 they instantly were visible. Since a couple of years each new SS/AS version has been an improvement compared to the previous one - 2.52 breaks this rule - it feels much wor...

Re: Shutdown problems on XP Pro
Does it depend on state of Salamander? I mean some opened windows (Find, Viewers, Help, dialog boxes, etc.), opened archives, opened file systems such as FTP or WinSCP? Could you reproduce this problem just by starting one instance of Salamander with your local disks in left and right panel (do not...

Shutdown problems on XP Pro
I'm using XP Pro (32 bit) and if I select to shut down Windows if Altap Salamander 2.52 is still running, it only works for one of three tries. If I exit AS before, there is no problem at all. I can't remember that this already was a problem with AS 2.51.
