Additional info:

As with Skype, Salamander loses virtual scrolling ability only when launched as administrator. Sadly, though, unlike Skype, Salamander often needs to be run as administrator.

Using Synaptics touch pad driver.

Considering that there are free MS Office file viewers available, why duplicate this functionality in this plug-in?

Jan, wouldn't it be more efficient if you got hold of your own copy of Word 2007 and created all kinds of sample files you want?

I've been using Salamander with Cyrillic letters in file and directory names with no problems. I've just configured Windows to use Russian as a language for non-Unicode programs and changed Script to Cyrillic in the font settings in Salamander.

No virtual scrolling

Hi,

Salamander and its internal viewer doesn't seem to support virtual scrolling with my laptop's touchpad (by Synaptics). Whether the driver is set to use item under cursor or selected item, no scrolling occurs in Salamander.

This is on Windows Vista.

I am using the 32 bit version.

Do you have an idea why this happens? Does an app have to be designed with something in mind to avoid this?

Salamander's process doesn't exit on Vista

I've witnessed multiple times in Task Manager that Salamander's process doesn't exit upon closing its window on Windows Vista. I don't know if it's Vista's problem or Salamander's because I've also seen this with Notepad and Windows Media player (the player even continued playing while the window wa...

Salamander doesn't obey shortcut keys (access keys) setting

I am using Salamander 2.5 on Vista. Salamander doesn't seem to pay attention to this particular setting -- it always underlines access keys.

I always thought that USB flash drives were hot-swappable, and I always removed simply by disconnecting them. Even when Salamander was showing one in a panel. Never had a problem.

Text viewer: wrapping lines shouldn't split words

The way you wrap lines makes reading text very difficult because you split words. If you can't fit the whole word on current line, just move it to the next line.
