Re: Select files that does not have some text
Finding should be easy. The "!" is a NOT operator. So something like "!<ToReturnCode>31" ? (You may need to escape the brackets?) That should provide you with the list of file names that you want. Thank you for the reply. Let's start with the easy part. When I use "!<ToRetu...

Select files that does not have some text
I'd like to find out how to select all files that do not have the following text:
<ToReturnCode>31
in the file.
I'd like to have them in either the left or right side of Salamander.
Thank you,
Docfxit

Oh, & you may find some of the Shortcut Keys of interest too.
Like Alt+Insert & Shift+Insert ...
That's great.

Re: Move files with selective text
That is really super. It worked really great. You just saved me hours of work. I had no idea that could be done. What a great feature. Thank you very much. I often wondered how smart the find window was. I have wanted the capability many many times to select a file in the find window and have it tak...

Does anyone know if there is a way to move a text file from one folder to another only if it has "ToReturnCode>31" in the text file?

Re: Time stamp changes when copying files
I know Salamander has great ways of getting around the issues.
It would be really nice even though the problems are not created in Salamander for Salamander to correct the issues so that the differences wouldn't be created in the first place.
Thank you,
Docfxit

Time stamp changes when copying files
Why is it that the time on all files change by one hour when I copy them from one computer to another? Both computers are running Win7 Ultimate. Both are set for the same time. Both are in the same time zone. I'm copying from a USB drive connected to computer one over the network to the hard drive o...

Re: Deletes and copies taking too long
What kinds of USB devices? What drivers are needed for them? (Usually aren't needed in XP.) In your opening thread, you said the trouble was with your local, C drive? If you go into Device Manager at the bottom you will see USB devices. I did say my local C Drive. And I was experiencing long delays...

What version of Salamander are you running? >> #docfxit: I'm running XP Pro Ver. 2.53 beta 2 How much are the times off? Just above the 1 or 2 hour difference, there is also a setting for _xx_ (up to 3600) seconds. With that set, will that adjust for the times? Other then time, the files are actual...

Compare folders - Files one hour difference
I am trying to compare folders with files that most of the time have one hour difference. One set of files is on the hard drive NTFS The other set of files is on a thumb drive FAT32. I understand why there is a difference. I have put a check mark in: Options, Configuration,Confirmations, Compare Dir...

Re: Deletes and copies taking too long
I found and solved the problem. To resolve the problem I re-installed old drivers for my USB devices. There must have been some incompatibility with the updated drivers.
It made it look like there was a problem with Salamander.
Thank you all for your input.
