(Are you saying 20k files in a single folder? If so, I have to ask, what kind of files might they be? Highly inefficient wouldn't it be?)

Re: saving Salamander's configuration to the registry

In addition, if you have multiple instances of SS open, you must close those that may still have Save On Exit enabled first, then manually Save Configuration on that last remaining instance. (If you did not do that, then the other instances, when closed, would overwrite the setting to not save setti...

I too rename in the same way. Have not had any problem. Note that another "clipboard type" program, or another program altogether could be interfering. My FTP program wipes the clipboard when initially opened. It can also monitor clicks - looking for URL's, but that does not interfere with...

What advantage is there to using the existing Pack (Alt+F5) command?

Pack defaults to creating the archive in the current directory. If you click the down arrow in the archive name field, the other panel directory is already filled out.

Ok. Then how about, if you were to put that icon on your toolbar, making it a toggle. Maybe even with its' own shortcut key combo. (Now someone points out AutoIt .) Or a triggle. Triggle you ask? A tri-way toggle ;-). Each click alternates between Hide Selected, Hide Unselected, Show Hidden. (Hmm, C...

Interesting how this problem manifested itself in other applications just about the same way that it did here. I'll also point out, that ctfmon.exe is part of a standard windows install (SP2 perhaps). Though it does not run by default. Office is not required. I do not have Office (or any other WP su...

Every machine that I have come across where this problem has occurred, has had ctfmon.exe loaded into memory. Unloading it & SS works without incident. BTW, instead of rebooting (which I've now done thousands of times ) between each unselection, it is easier to Logout & then log back in...
