Re: Portable Altap Salamander

I've been using my portable version more and more on my thumbdrive. One thing I cannot figure out how to do is carry Apps within the Altap folder and expect them to work when I plug them into another system. Each time I plug them into a different PC, the drive letter may change and keep the apps wor...

Re: Duplicating Configuration

1 - Export the ALtap registry you want to duplicate by selecting Options | Export Configuration 2 - Using a good text editor like Notepad2, edit the configuration registry file you just exported from Altap Salamander. Replace - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Altap\Altap Salamander 2.52\ With - HKEY_CURR...

AS 252 & Blackberry

I just got a couple of new Blackberry's modem 8530. I plugged the USB cable in and I was able to see the phone under My Computer, but I cannot figure out a way to view the phone contents of the memory chip via AS252. What I am currently doing to copy files to the phone is using one window of Explore...

Registry View Sorting v2.5x

One thing I always found annoying is that the view sorting does not work across all options when you are viewing the registry vs viewing the folder. The only option which works is the Name. If you click on any other option like Data/Time or Size, nothing happens. But....if you select the Right pane ...

Re: Portable Altap Salamander

That did work, but I will have to play with it some more. I was just thinking, is there really a need for all the additional variables? What more does it give you from the original where it checks if the files are there and continues or aborts? I do like the idea of the command window displaying wha...

Re: Problems opening a 7Zip file

{bump}
Just for the heck of it, I renamed the file with a 7z extension instead of ZIP and I was able to open it.

Re: Problems opening a 7Zip file

The file is not a multivolume archive and I have been able to open a multivolume archive with Salamander.

Problems opening a 7Zip/Zip file

I created a script to backup some files and used 7za.exe. When trying to view the archive by clicking on it with Salamander, I am warned that the file is part of a multi-volume archive or is corrupt. But I can right click and open with 7zip or even use Windows Explorer and it will open the file. Her...

Re: Portable Altap Salamander

OK makes sense. I will start playing with standalone portables without the DLL and see if I notice any difference.

I don't think that is a good solution. I can't see installing application on someone elses system that is not needed. I can always kill the file after a reboot. I'd like to avoid doing that if possible.

Re: Portable Altap Salamander

This is a really nice idea :) and very useful. I've worked through the code and made some changes that I wanna share with you; mainly it's improvements in avoiding and handling of errors. There are 2 TODOs that you might want to take care of :) And if you dislike to get status commands, be them pur...

Re: Portable Altap Salamander

Jan...question for you. When I copy the files and run them on a HDD, when I try to delete them I get a warning that a DLL cannot be deleted, names slips my mind, but I think it's in the PlugIn folder. Can you tell me/us what I need to put into the CMD file which would allow me to nuke all the files?

Re: Portable Altap Salamander

Jan...a request for you guys as I'm sure you can do it better then us. Until you officially come out with the Salamander working from INI, how about a Portable Launcher based on scripts above? This way all a user has to do is install Salamander and if they want to carry it with them, all they do is ...
