Check for New Versions: "ignore this version" not working
After starting salamander, the dialog "Check for New Versions" opens and tells me "Altap Salamander 3.05 show details | ignore this version" . On my two computers (Win7 64 bit), I clicked on "ignore this version", but I keep getting notification about 3.05. I already tr...

Sounds interesting. I don't find such a script in my Salamander installation - could you please point me to a download page?tukanos wrote:Yes, using the Automation plugin.

Re: PictView "Update Thumbnail" deletes XMP data
Sure, attached you'll find a pic with XMP metadata. Especially important for me is rating=3 and color=red as they serve for rough categorization in many applications (Adobe products, GeoSetter, XnView MP, ...). You can see the complete XMP metadata e.g. in XnView MP in browser mode, when you click o...

Re: Find Files inside compressed files. (ZIP, CAB, etc.)
"Find Files inside compressed files" is not any more on the roadmap http://www.altap.cz/salamander/roadmap/
Did anyone find a good workaround? I do manually unpack all archives to a temp folder, search there, then delete the temp folder - not really nice...

Re: Search Results View Mode
FYI: "save selection" in find results http://forum.altap.cz/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1996&p=29581 would be a solution/workaround for single folders (no "flat mode" so if files are spread amongst many dirs)

Re: file manipulation in the "files-find" dialog
*bump* for having F2 (rename) and "save selection" working in find results. This would also allow to workaround for a considerable part of Search Results View Mode

Re: Restore Selection (Ctrl+W) improvements
*bump* for 2) inability to restore selections because Salamander did not remember or purged it's memory. Salamander shall memorize a selection over a directory change - that seems quite simple to fix, as the functionality exists with explicit saving & loading of selections (CTRL+SHIFT+F5/F6) and...

PictView "Update Thumbnail" deletes XMP data
In Salamander 3.03 x64 in a folder, the thumbnails did not appear correctly in Salamander - wrong rotaion, not reflecting cropping etc. I tried to recreate the thumbnails with XnView classic, but it did not help. So I called Salamander > Menu > Plugins > PictView > Update Thumbnail , the dialog told...

Thank you for the progress bar, it's a small but useful feature because you can see "from outside of the application" when copy/move finishes

Re: file manipulation in the "files-find" dialog
I want to rename files that "Find" listed as matching my criteria. I am aware that "Batch rename" offers basic search functions, e.g. file masks like *.xml -- my search is too complex for batch rename filtering possibilities. Any of the following options would be an improvement, ...

now using a separate tool
I'm not needing that function any more, as I'm now using a separate tool called HotKeyz that works windows-wide (=in all apps), is quite light wight and also supports other functions (e.g. open calculator, create new outlook calendar entry, switch off the monitor - all with one single hotkey). Help ...

Re: PictView thumbs buggy - only some shown
It happened with pictures from different cameras and different persons. It happened sometimes that 1/3 of all images had no thumbail in Salamander (see this screenshot or this screenshot ), but in Windows Explorer, XnView etc. they worked fine, but those programs are lacking too many file management...
