RC3 now displays an endlessly looping memory address alert when attempting close. I have to use Taskmanager to purge the message
It's possible I have a system problem not related to Salamander. Will keep you informed!

RC3 SalOpen Problem
Sorry to report this so late in the cycle. I customarily have the "Open files with salopen.exe" option in the General page enabled. With RC3 and that option enabled, double-clicking a file shows a short hour glass, then nothing more. Disabling "Open files with salopen.exe" resto...

tc (god how i hate this piece of shit everyody uses) Either you are just kidding or your needs for a file manager are relatively superficial. The TC plugin architecture provides access to utilities that no other file manager has. It's what keeps me from switching entirely to Salamander. Even when s...

This post points up the reason I think that the Altap staff should ignore pride issues and support the TotalCommander plugin architecture in addition to ( not instead of) the Salamander plugin architecture. This TC plugin site is quite an eye opener. It will take a long time for the Altap staff to d...

 Wait for 3.0. Oh I know I know. It's just that Salamander has been essentially unchanged (for my use, anyway) for years now. The last enhancement that directly affected my use was thumbnail view (and when was that?). Since then there has been nothing new of consequence to enhance Salamander...

Plea for action / moderate impatience expressed
As they (used to) say here in America: "Whuzzup???" It seems as if Salamander is stalled. Is v2.5 almost done? Salamander is so smoooth. I love it and use it exclusively for a certain class of file management. Only... for me, it needs a few additional features, like folder tabs, an optiona...

I hope the Salamander Team will put more urgent emphasis on folder tabs with private trees and on more custom columns . That said , I too think that a scriptable Salamander would be great ! The key would be a proper object model and useful methods. For instance, I would like to be able to script som...

A competitor commander has introduced folder trees in a new beta version. They are very incompletely and narrowly implemented to the extent that they are essentially useless beyond simple navigation. Feedback from the developer suggests that no improvements are planned, either. Please, Salamander de...
