Freeze Columns etc in Detailed View
This is my request for a datagrid (or datasheet, or spreadsheet...) approach to the file panels in Salamander. Most file managers treat detailed file displays as list boxes. Yes, you usually can sort the rows of files and some file managers allow you limited control over column sequences and visibil...

Thanks for a fine tool
I am a long time registered user of Salamander and really appreciate the attention to detail the developers have shown. A "no wine before its time" approach.
Salamander is smooth, fast, configurable, and does not crash on my system.
Thanks for such a nice file manager!

REQST: Folder types
This is a big request for the concept of folder types. An assignable folder type would enable the file panels to display persistent column layouts, views, and filters for individual folders. For instance, I might want always to see a folder that contained images to display in thumbnail mode by defau...

REQST: Dual folder trees No. 2: mouse-over hide/show
In addition to the button (and hotkey) access to displaying a folder tree in each panel (my request here ), it would be great if the folder trees could show/hide themselves automatically in response to mouse movements. I conceive of a narrow vertical stripe adjacent to a file panel boundary that is ...

REQST: Hierarchical favorites No. 2: display in folder tree
After implementing a hierarchical favorites system (my request here ), please allow the favorites pseudo-folder hierarchy to be displayed in each folder tree (see also my previous request here ). I personally wouldn't want the favorites tree to be a member of the folder tree but instead a different ...

REQST: Hierarchical favorites list No. 1
I have over 50 "favorite" folders. The list changes nearly daily. Please enable a complete hierarchical "favorites" system with some form of drag & drop editing plus a full edit dialog to organize and manage the favorites' pseudo-folders. Favorites should have an option for a...

REQST: Dual folder trees No. 1
Please add a feature to enable a folder tree in each panel. Ideally I would like to have a display/hide folder tree button in each panel toolbar. The folder tree should have options to define background color and display font independently of the file panel. It would be nice if the folder tree of th...

REQST: Choice to display viewers in opposite panel
Most of the time I try to avoid floating windows. Please enable a command (hotkey and button, also) to display PictView output (and the output of the other viewers) embedded in the "opposite" panel from the selected file. Also, enable a setting to capture/restore the divider position when ...
